Hi, I'm Herbert.
A founder from 's-Hertogenbosch. I build companies that keep going when I let go.
I'm Herbert Megens-Kreté, a founder based in 's-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. At Apperium we build apps and digital products for companies. I'm also building Car Network Europe, a marketplace where car dealers across Europe trade with each other.
The common thread: I want to build companies that don't stop when I stop. That means setting clear boundaries, trusting people and automating the boring work. Since 2026 I do that with Jarvis, an AI assistant that works alongside me as chief of staff.
I've been a founder since 2018. Before that I spent five years as a consultant, and before that five years in e-commerce, at sanitairwinkel.nl. Apperium is now a team of thirteen. We were named an FD Gazelle in 2023, are Great Place to Work certified and a member of Dutch Digital Agencies.
I write here about what works and what doesn't. No polish: the mistakes included, and what I change because of them.
