Rough split of my attention in a typical week. An estimate, not a measurement.

Work

Apperium. Our team of 13 builds apps for clients. My role is getting smaller: I set the boundaries, the team decides. We're moving maintenance and ongoing development to a fixed subscription, so planning and revenue get calmer. And sales gets a fixed weekly rhythm instead of depending on my calendar.

Car Network Europe. A platform where car dealers across Europe trade with each other. The apps are going to the App Store and Play Store and the first dealers are active. Now it's mostly listening and refining: every remark from a dealer improves things for the next one.

Jarvis. My AI assistant mostly prepares things for now: drafts, agendas, overviews. The next step is handling small things on his own. Step by step, and only where I can measure that it goes well. The homepage shows live what he does.

This site and the newsletter. A letter every other week about what I hand over and what it brings. Just started, so plenty to learn.

Learning

I work with the lessons of Dutch business coach Tibor Olgers. The main one: profit isn't only money, it's also time, health, relationships and direction. I try to score on all five, not just the first.

Beyond that, I mostly learn by building. What can an AI assistant really do in a small company, and where does it fail? That's what I write about.

Outside work

Working out at least twice a week: gym, road bike or mountain bike. And I'm picking up Brazilian jiu-jitsu again after a long break. Simply starting over with the basics.

With my kids I'm building their own games. A jumping game with a penguin and a racing game with cars that are really animals. They write the brief, Jarvis helps build. They're stricter clients than most.

And beyond that: less screen time, more room in the calendar, and evenings that are actually free.

Follow along

I mostly share this through the newsletter and on LinkedIn. Looser and more personal on Instagram.

An idea from Derek Sivers: a page about what you're doing now.
